The combined price of a new Lexmark black ink cartridge and color cartridge: $60
Price of a new Lexmark printer, which includes both a black and color cartridge: $50

All my professors have put extensive, detailed notes for their classes on our e-campus site, and they expect us to print them off and follow along in class. One class alone had 100 pages worth of printouts. Now I understand why I saw people with laser printers! When the HP desk jet dies, I will probably ask for one for Christmas/ birthday.
You may have noted that Lexmark has followed the lead of H-P by supplying "starter" cartridges with their printers. Like King Gilette proved, the profit is in the blades, not the razor.
I guess they were on to me! :-)
